Paul participated in the Young Enterprise Scheme at Havelock North High. He is now the CEO of Kiwibank, which he co-founded in 2002. Throughout his successful career he has learnt that it's not just about the idea, but the importance of making it work as a team.
Paul Brock participated in the Young Enterprise Scheme at Havelock North High School. He is a co-founder of Kiwibank – a 100% New Zealand-owned bank that was launched in 2002. Since its inception, Paul held several key positions within the bank including General Manager of Marketing and the General Manager of Savings and Transactions, as well as CEO up until his departure last year.
Paul Brock was the Kiwibank Group Chief Executive from 2010-2017. As CEO Paul led the Kiwibank Group through a period of rapid growth and diversification into business banking, wealth management, insurance and asset finance.
During his time at Kiwibank, Brock built up a customer base of one million and introduced wealth management services with the purchase of Gareth Morgan Investments. Brock was also with Kiwibank as it saw out the sale of a 47% stake from NZ Post to joint buyers ACC and the Superannuation Fund. The bank is now a major player in the New Zealand market with one in four New Zealanders holding an account with Kiwibank.
Brock has contributed to the significant impact that Kiwibank has had on the banking sector and subsequently all New Zealanders, through the improvement of banking services. He has a strong background in governance, management, growth and business development, brand development and marketing, as well as an extensive background in the financial services industry that includes senior management positions with Westpac Trust Bank.
Since leaving Kiwibank, Paul has been an Advisory Board Member for the Massey University Business School, and the Chairman of the New Zealand Story Group – a country reputation company working to enhance the New Zealand brand and increase the benefits to New Zealand from export trade.'
