This 9-week programme is the perfect way for Year 10-11 students to learn how to run a small business. It can be incorporated into a cross-curricular course or as part of a full-year Level 1 Business Studies course. The programme aligns with Business Studies Achievement Standard 90842 'Carry out and review a product-based business activity within a classroom context with direction', and can be used with other standards.
Through Start-Up, students will:
- Work together to create a new product or service
- Learn about business planning, product development, marketing and financial management
- Sell their product or service at a school market day
Curriculum links
The programme aligns with Business Studies Achievement Standard 90842, and can also be used with other standards, such as 90840 'Apply the marketing mix to a new or existing product'. Teachers can combine it with other subjects such as Accounting or Economics.
