More than 30 stalls will line the halls of the mall, with young vendors joining the market for the first time next week.

Organiser and arts ambassador Shaun Kay said it was a good opportunity to give young people the chance interact with customers in a store-like setting.

“It's important to give them a platform to experience the public and see what happens in the real world.”

Eleven young vendors signed up to the market from across the rohe, including students from Freyberg High School, Palmerston North Girls’ High School, St Peter’s College, Whanganui Girls’ College, Nga Tawa Diocesan School and UCOL.

Their stalls include items like honey by the City Slickers, chopping boards from the Lumber Lads, clothing and middle eastern rugs by Anic Rugs.
