Students create walking art with a social message

A group of students from the Marlborough Girls College are making a business out of creating shoes that 'walk the talk' for social issues such as racism.

The group of six Year 13 students are participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme, which encourages students to work in groups to create a product and come up with a business plan to produce and sell it.

The group, who call themselves 'HYP'D', plan to design and hand paint art onto leather shoes, following monthly themes which promote awareness of social issues.

Each month they plan to drop a new theme consistent with their motto 'Step out of the crowd'.
