In 2002, The Lion Foundation became the major sponsor of the Young Enterprise Scheme. 15 years on, we’re proud to say they are still partnering with us to support young entrepreneurs throughout the country.
The Lion Foundation joined us in 2000, and took over from Fletcher Trust as the major funder of the Young Enterprise Scheme in 2002. Since then, nearly 50,000 students have had the opportunity to set up and run their own business. Many of our alumni are now business owners themselves, and continue to give back by mentoring and coaching current students.
Young Enterprise Trust is a charity, and we couldn’t do the work we do without our sponsors and funders. The Lion Foundation is our largest funder and has been for many years. Their support enables us to deliver the Young Enterprise Scheme throughout the country.
In the 15 years since 2001, we’ve seen a huge range of businesses developed by our YES students, including:
But in addition to the business skills that students learn through this programme, research shows us that students are also learning a range of soft skills. These soft skills, including confidence, time management, teamwork and leadership, will support our alumni wherever their journey takes them.
