Have you heard of Prestige Men's Products?

The fledgling company made up of Wainuiomata High students has developed a natural hair wax for men.

And based on its success in front of a Wellington region "Dragon's Den" panel, it seems the Young Enterprise Scheme business might well be going places.

Its team of Nikeel Kumar, Tanara Haenga, Kashaya Collier, Sheldon Brown and Joseph Tunupopo made an impressive pitch to the dragons last week.

The top seven school teams from the region were invited to present their pitches at PricewaterhouseCoopers' function centre.

A prize pool of $3000 in start-up funding was up for grabs to help the businesses get ahead of their competition.

Three Hutt Valley businesses made it to the Dragon's Den, with Hutt Valley High company Ease and HIBS' Granville Street also making it through, alongside Wainuiomata High's Prestige.

Young Enterprise Scheme Wellington co-ordinator Gavin Miller said the standard of this year's finalists was "as high as ever".

It was great to see a diverse representation of schools from across the region.
