About the Role

The YES Coordinator plays a key role in bringing The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) to life within their region.

As the regional lead and front-facing representative of YES, this role is about people first - inspiring, guiding, and supporting rangatahi and teachers to engage confidently in enterprise learning, while helping schools feel connected, supported, and proud to be part of YES.

Acting as a connector between schools, students, business, and the wider YES whānau, the YES Coordinator helps foster an enterprising culture and creates meaningful experiences that support young people to back themselves, test ideas, and grow.

What This Role Focuses On

At its heart, this role is about:

·       Leading the delivery of YES in your region, ensuring a high-quality, consistent experience for schools and students

·       Growing participation and engagement, alongside School Engagement Managers

·       Beingthe face of YES locally, hosting and representing the programme at regional events and hui

·       Celebrating success, showcasing student achievement and strengthening the profile of YES in the community

You’ll be based in your region, while working as part of a connected national team, supported by the Head of YES and YES HQ. Collaboration, shared learning, and backing each other is central to how we work.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

We're looking for someone who brings:

·      Strong people skills and confidence engaging with rangatahi, teachers, and business leaders

·      Passion for youth development and real-world learning

·      The ability to facilitate engaging, inclusive conversations and sessions

·      Adaptability and resilience - no two weeks are the same

·      Good organisation and follow-through

·      A creative, curious mindset and willingness to try new things

·      Comfort working independently while being part of a team

Regional Events Coordinator (Full-time, Wellington)

The Regional Events Coordinator is part of the Operations and Events team that is the engine that keeps our charity moving. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of our programmes and events while providing positive, high-quality support to our schools, students, teachers and wider stakeholder community. It is a mix of customer service, logistics, event delivery, communications and operations all in one. No two days are the same, and this role suits someone who enjoys variety, brings great energy to a team, and wants to be part of a national organisation making a real difference for young people.

Key Responsibilities of Role

The role is a multi-faceted role, supporting many internal functions:

  • Regional Event Coordination
  • Programme/Administration Support
  • National Event Support
  • Customer Service
  • System Support

The Operations and Events team has an overall team leader that takes responsibility for ensuring the team is working collaboratively with each other and that all tasks are managed efficiently and effectively.

Skills and Experience

Essential skills required for this role are:

  • Organisational skills – this is a multi-faceted role and the ability to prioritise is critical
  • Attention to detail – getting the details right every time for a smoother experience for our team and stakeholders
  • Collaborative Mindset – experience working in a team, with a desire to work to work collaboratively with other team members, internally and externally
  • Ability to work under pressure – because there are times when it’s just all go
  • Good oral and written communication skills – to engage our stakeholders and provide top tier customer service
  • Problem solving - eager to jump in and find the root of the problem and finding the best solution to make our stakeholder lives easier
  • Initiative - being a lean charity there is always things to do, so seeing these opportunities and pitching in is important
  • Tech Savvy - computers will be second nature to you, your desire to find the cause and assist not just our teacher and students but work with technical leads will excite you

It would be useful if the candidate has:

  • Experience with databases or CRM systems, database integration and automation
  • Computer skills with Adobe Design Suite, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Canva, Mailchimp and /or Survey Monkey
  • Web administration experience with a Content Management System

The Operations Coordinator is part of the team that is the engine that runs our charity.  The purpose of this role (and team) is to provide support to all aspects of the business as well as to our external stakeholders.  It’s a bit customer service, a bit logistics and a bit operations all in one.  No two days are the same.  This role suits someone who likes variety, is a team player and wants to be part of a national charity with a clear purpose.
