"

Help us inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

At Young Enterprise, we believe in unleashing the potential of young New Zealanders by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and mindset to succeed in life and business. Each year, we work with over 5,000 rangatahi across Aotearoa and none of this is possible without the funding partnerships that power our programmes.

We’re looking for a Head of Funding, or as we like to call it, our Collector of Cash , to lead our funding strategy and secure the investment that fuels our impact. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who’s equal parts strategist, relationship-builder, and deal-closer.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading the development and execution of our funding strategy to secure our core operational budget and enable growth.
  • Building and managing high-value partnerships across corporate, government, alumni, and philanthropic sectors.
  • Personally managing key stakeholder relationships — from CEOs to Ministers — and making sure they’re deeply connected to our mission.
  • Driving new business development and ensuring our funding pipeline is healthy, profitable, and ethically aligned.
  • Overseeing grant applications, funding proposals, and compliance reporting.
  • Leading a small but mighty team, while working closely with our CEO and leadership team.
What we’re looking for
  • Proven success in enterprise sales, business development, partnerships, or fundraising at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure corporate, government, and philanthropic funding.
  • Strong account management skills and the ability to nurture long-term partnerships.
  • Experience leading funding strategy and consistently hitting financial targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing.
  • Experience with CRM/opportunity management systems (Pipedrive a plus).
  • A passion for youth development and making a tangible difference.
The kind of person who thrives here
  • Innovative and strategic — always spotting new opportunities.
  • Results-driven — you love the chase, but you also deliver.
  • Collaborative — you work well across teams and sectors.
  • Hustler mindset — you roll up your sleeves and get things done.
  • Aligned with our values: Love What You Do, Connect & Collaborate, Try New Stuff, Make It Real, and Aim for Awesome.
Why join us

You’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation with a 44-year track record of impact, surrounded by a passionate team that genuinely loves what they do. You’ll have the chance to work with inspiring leaders and partners while helping shape the future of New Zealand’s young people.
