On the final day I saw many changes in myself with how I present myself to the group and to the presenters as I have more confidence.

We saw Dhawal Nayak and his team at the Grand company, which helps young people connect to their future goals and dreams. We then saw river city labs which opened my eyes to what it’s like to be in an extremely hard working and idea filled environment.

We next went and spoke with Schalk Pienaar who taught us maybe the best advice I’ve heard is not to place all your time and effort into one thing and focus on it so much you forget other things because he did that and ultimately placed himself under a lot of pressure in a short period of time. He explained how he tried to be different and follow his passions and how he witnessed an opportunity.

One of the most important things I took out of the meeting with Schalk Pienaar is that he said with a team it needs to be close and everyone should be comfortable and I find that important because making someone comfortable in their work environment means they will give more to the company with work efforts and work rates and that as CEO and as a leader of a team you have to be prepared to sacrifice, so if they’re working late you have to stay back and work late, if they work till 3:00 am on a Friday night then you need to stay and work with them on a Friday night.
