The 2015 EPIC Challenge National Competition

The EPIC Challenge competition was upped to a whole new level this year with over 100 of schools top entries from around the country entering the National Competition. In the EPIC Challenge, students work in teams to research the primary industries and examine career options.

They then create a promotional strategy to market one career to their fellow students. During a very special awards ceremony, two teams were recognized and congratulated for their top entries.

The Dairy category winner (judged by DairyNZ) was awarded to Boys' Own Primary Zone from Huaniui College. The team created a series of e-magazines aimed at educating Year 9 and 10 students about the industry.

The Primary Industries category winner (judged by the Ministry of Primary Industries) was awarded  to Proventus from Palmerston North Girls High School. The team created a quirky video advertisement illustrating a students decision to become a Beef Manager after seeing what a typical day is like.

Honourable Nathan Guy was thrilled to present Proventus with the prestige title of overall winners of the EPIC Competition.
