Te Māapura means “The Spark” and that’s exactly what this programme aims to ignite. Te Māapura is designed to introduce our rangatahi Māori to the world of problem solving, creativity, and entrepreneurship Māori, helping our young people recognise the potential they hold to shape their communities and futures.
Delivered by Young Enterprise, Te Māapura is a one-day business innovation experience for rangatahi Māori, designed to build confidence, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. Delivered across Aotearoa, rangatahi will work in teams to tackle real-world challenges, create solutions, and pitch their ideas - developing skills they can carry into school, community, and beyond.
Te Māapura is for rangatahi Māori in Years 9–10 (or age equivalent). Schools, Kura Kaupapa Māori, and Māori community groups are invited to bring their rangatahi to participate. Students must be accompanied by a teacher, senior faculty member, or staff member from their organisation.
Teachers and principals can register their interest in Te Māapura by completing the registration form here or by clicking the button below.
Registrations close 14 days before each event. Once registered, you will receive a form to provide dietary information for your students. If you wish to bring more students than the standard allocation, please contact the Event Manager as soon as possible.
